Morning Minis

Last fall I offered morning minis at Eagle Island State Park on October 7th. Boy oh boy did we get lucky with the weather! It was one of the last warm(ish) mornings. I wore a long sleeve, vest, and pants and what a joke! I was sweating my booty off and taking layers off immediately. These mini sessions were fun and different for me because I didn't know most of the clients. Luckily everyone found my detailed crazy directions on how to get to the spot and there weren't any issues. No one was late which is always appreciated and helps keep the sessions running smoothly.

As the sun was getting higher and higher I had to move people around and try out different spots. I learned a lot during these minis with backlighting being a little too bright but I will take what I learned and apply it to my next minis either in the spring or fall. Overall I think I was able to capture some beautiful images. I truly love getting to photograph families. Each family has such different dynamics and it's really interesting to get to step into their worlds and connect with them. For some families certain poses and ideas just don't work and that's okay! It's my job to figure out what does work for each family.

I have shot at so many different locations at Eagle Island that I can confidently say I now have many spots that I truly love there! It's such a convenient location for families coming from Middleton, Star, Eagle, Meridian or Boise. I really do love it.
